Match 46: Chennai Super Kings vs. Bangalore Royal Challengers

Bangalore who are supposed to under dogs due to successive defeats over almost every team now confident to display some show in remaining matches. Rahul Dravid who had performed much well in IPL tournament won the toss and choosen to bat first. Batting line-up as always faulted again in this match. Early wickets and low average caused  problems for Bangalore Royal Challengers. Only Rahul Dravid stayed at wicket who ensured Royal Challengers to have a compitable total of 126. Great bowling effort by Chennai Super Kings who restricted Bangalore to modest total. Albie Morkel strike 4 wickets and Dravid remained top score by scoring 47 runs.

Chasing a low score opening batsmen Parthiv Patel and Stephen Fleming as always given a revolution start to Chennai Super Kings. At the end of 9th over they were well placed towards win scoring 60-0 but suddenly game changed when early wickets of Patel and then Dhoni fallen. It created gateway for Kumble to attack and grab more. Leg spinner also removed Fleming and given yet another major wicket. Dale Steyn seen in full-swing he also grabbed two victims in which his national mate Morkel and Vidyut included. Suresh Raina stayed till the last ball of match but he was unable to retreive his team towards victory however Parveen Kumar bowled awesomely under immense pressure. Dravid XI Bangalore Royal Challengers won by 14 runs and ensure that they came late but effective now they uplifted Deccan Chargers from 8th to 7th place. Although it wont matter Challengers arrival in Semis but it can boost moral and confidence for upcoming matches and next season. MS Dhoni termed defeat as poor selection by batting line up bowling done their work it was useless shots which created loose. Anil Kumble named man of the match for his magnificient bowling figures 3-14 which turned out victory for Challengers

Match 41 - Chennai Super Kings vs. Kolkata Knight Riders

Kolkata Knight Rider who were champion other day @ Eden Gardens against Delhi DareDevils. Now Kolkata hosting another fascinating encounter versus Chennai Super Kings. Saurav Ganguly won the toss and elected to bat first. Last time when Knight Riders went to bat they lost quite badly against Mumbai Indians. Salman Butt who is in fantastic nick pulled off things nicely for Knight Riders along with his countryman Mohammad Hafeez. Hafeez and Ganguly dismissed earlier part of game by Makhaya Ntini. Butt conslidated with Das for 80 + runs parntership and settle things in good way for Knight Riders. Salman Butt shots were elegant to view every time he tried to work ball in gaps. Makhaya Ntini again brought back in 16th over and bowled Das following next ball David Hussey also cleaned up that made hatrick for him. What a day he has so far with the ball 4 wickets in 4 overs and Chennai back on track. Wickets falling as well set Salman Butt also departed after scoring his fabolous 73 runs including 10 boundaries and 1 six. Kolkata Knight Riders finished their innings and set target of 150 runs for Chennai Super Kings.

Rawalpindi Express Shoaib Akhtar attacked not brightly for KKR. He and Ishant Sharma unable to give any wicket but Stephen Fleming and Parthiv Patel opened and created thunderous partnership of 55 runs before rain came to in action. They were well placed according to Duckworth Lewis method and decision of method went in favor of Chennai Super Kings due to impressive scoring rate without any loss. Chennai Super Kings won by 3 runs D/L method. Makhaya Ntini awarded Man of the match for his fine bowling.

Match 36 - Chennai Super Kings vs. Mumbai Indians

After a rapid win over Delhi DareDevils Dhoni XI Chennai Super Kings found themselves relaxed against Mumbai Indians who are not in that prime form as they were. Although Little Master Sachin Tendulkar joined the team for first time in IPL Season replacing Shaun Pollock as captain of side. Sachin won the toss and elected to bowl first as most of captains do in T20 format and prefer to chase. As usual Shaun Pollock was given the opportunati along with the experianced indian pacer Ashish nehra, Pollock bowled extremely well within line and length but the former kiwi captain smashed Nehra and bravo out of the park, but unfotunately chennai loses vidyut on the bowling of Pollock in the third over afterwards raina joined the party but he was dissmissed early after that MS Dhoni along with Badrinath holds the innings togather and put their team on a decent total of 156/6 they contributed 95 runs together.

Now it was upto Sachin’s army how to achieve competative total of 155 runs, considering their past record which clearly suggests that they are not good chasers but the way two very experienced asian runs machines fire they clearly out class the Dhoni Soldiers it was found to be Jayasuria’s night the way he smashed chennai was totaly outclass and was appriciated by every one including the Ambani’s. jayasuria was playing in his own aggressive style of batting and the sixes were raining all around the ground he smashed 11 sixes and 9 fours he fineshed the match with flying colours by hitting 26 runs of 5 balls of Kapugadra’s over he was ararded man of the match for his Supreme performance of 114 runs for just 48 deliveries. Mumbai Indians won comprehensively by 9 wickets with over 5 overs to spare.

Match 26 - Chennai Super Kings vs. Deccan Chargers

Chennai Super Kings who started the tournament as most sucessful team in IPL after winning consecutive 4 wins now they are down in under loosing match by match. Deccan Chargers captain, Adam Gilchrist won the toss and elected to field like most captains do after winning toss. MS Dhoni also eyed to put on realistic target to upleash Deccan Chargers solid batting line up. Start from beginning bowling attack of Deccan always find themselves right on top by grabbing early and crucial wickets. Vijaykumar removed Parthiv Patel in his first over then suddenly wickets started to tumble over by over. From other end RP Singh continued his tight line and also grabbed twice in whole innings. Suresh Raina and MS Dhoni able to survive at crease for some while and look to build up any major parntership but Sanjay Bangar dismissed Raina and broken dangerous gathering of dangerous pair Raina scored 32 runs. Soon Albie Morkel came in who is more reknown as solid hitter of cricket bowl but following next over of Sanjay Bangar, Ojha also removed fearous batsman MS Dhoni which is called to be Priceless wicket in any part of the game that make double bonus for Deccan Chargers. Since then no one seem to stay and survive at middle except Albie Morkel who scored handy 29 runs went not out with Manpreet Gony. Chennai Super Kings made 144 runs 7.44 runs per over.

Deccan Chargers, new and most re-defining batting pair Adam Gilchrist and Herchelle Gibbs. Gibbs fallen early by giving delicate catch to Gony which he caught quite brilliantly. Then Scott Styris came to join Adam Gilchrist, Gilly again looked in fantastic form of batting played anchor role as captain do for his team. In absence of VVS Laxman he looked more patient and responsible because of leading team from front. Scott Styris also supported him well meanwhile Adam Gilchrist reached his quick fire fifty and suddenly got out after making 54 runs off 36 balls including 7 boundaries and 2 massive sixes. Rohit Sharma joined Scott Styris he also display his finesse with great excellency of strokes. After again loss of Rohit Sharma the pinch hitter Shahid Afridi came in who is looking to score something with bat in IPL. Afridi seemed to be in real hurry he finish the target within 18th over. He remain not out for 20 runs included 2 boundaries and 2 sixes. Scott Styris also remained unbeaten while scoring 36 runs. Deccan Chargers won by 7 wickets and registered their 2nd victory of the tournament while Chennai Super Kings lost 3rd match in a row and second in home Chennai. Adam Gilchrist awarded as Man of the Match for second time in IPL for his magnificient 56 runs and led his team towards 2nd victory

Rajasthan Royals who are unbeaten from last 4 matches ready to upleash against another strong contender Chennai Super Kings. Super Kings flory of victories came to end due to disasterous performance against Delhi DareDevils other night. MS Dhoni won the toss and choose the bat first as he always prefers to do in case of winning the toss. The decision seemed to be difficult from first bowl of the match. Sohail Tanvir perishes top order in his very first over. He able to sent both openers Parthiv Patel and Stephen Fleming back to pavillion. From other Shane Watson again tried to contine same amount of pressure. Rajasthan Royals find luckiest to grab early wickets as Tanvir again removed Vidyut in his second over which created more and much problems for Rajasthan Royals. Badrinath and Raina shown some kind of resistance in batting while after dismissal of Badrinath, MS Dhoni came in - for first time he was unable to do nothing just scored 1 run and Shane Warne sent him back to hunt. Things become more suspicious for Chennai Super Kings for first we witnessed problems faced by CSK. Albie Morkel and Suresh Raina worked hard for establishing parntership. Munaf Patel broken 44 runs parntership and removed dangerous Raina in same over again another wicket fallen as Joginder Sharma gone for duck facing first bowl from Patel. Sohail Tanvir again brought back to attack in his 3 over, from very first bowl of his threatning spell Albie Morkel bowled out comprehensively and following 3 more balls Muralitharan also been bowled out that makes Sohail Tanvir to take 5 wickets in a match. CSK unable to score much runs in last phase of innings. Sohail Tanvir atlast bowled Makhaya Ntini that made best ever bowling analysis in T20 history 6-14. Chennai Super Kings were bowled out making only 109 runs lowest in current IPL Competetions.
Chasing around 5.5 runs in an over not considered to be tough task. Graeme Smith and Asnodkar started innings brilliantly for Rajasthan Royals they put off great parntership of 78 runs in which flory of boundaries included. After the dismissal of Asnodkar more dangerous Yosuf Pathan came in after hitting a six magical spinner Muralitharan dismissed him. Shane Watson joined Graeme Smith and played easy target chasing innings. They compiled the target easily in just 15th over. Smith made 35 unbeaten runs along with Shane Watson not out on 14 runs. Rajasthan Royals won by 8 wickets its their 5th consecutive win in IPL which made on top @ IPL Standings and Sohail Tanvir awarded as Man of the Match for his match winning performance at Jaipur against Chennai Super Kings

Match 20: Chennai Super Kings vs. Delhi DareDevils

Chennnai Super Kings, unbeaten for 4 matches now Dhoni XI ready to comebeat against strong Delhi DareDevils who only lost a match. Mahedra Singh Dhoni won the toss and choosen to bat first as always he set a target around 180 to 200 beyond. But ahead of significant bowling attack of Delhi DareDevils it seemed to be quite tough likes of Glenn McGrath and Mohammad Asif started preceeding with bowl. Delhi DareDevils bowlers straight on target from first bowl. Parthiv Patel and new opening partner Stephen Fleming open for Chennai Super Kings. They were unable to do counter attack brilliant bowling all round Yomahesh took early wicket of Stephen Fleming. Vidyut came in another young gun but proving to play amateur innings. He scored decently along side Parthiv Patel and then MS Dhoni. MS Dhoni who is supreme touch fails to same thing as he did in past matches. Chennai Super Kings reknown for best of team combinations fails to score something effective on scoreboard. S Vidyut scored a fine fifty but he was soon removed by Australian Veteran Glenn McGrath. Meanwhile Mohammad Asif also sent back MS Dhoni with a fine catch of Shoaib Malik diving full length at long on. Since the departure of two set batsmen upcoming players like Albie Morkel and Suresh unable to score much and Delhi DareDevils restricted Chennai Super Kings to 169 runs. MS Dhoni not impressed with batting performance because to defending anything 8 runs over never seem to be big hurdle.

Virendar Sehwag and Gautam Gambhir started chase outstandingly. Virendar Sehwag always tried to attack over prime pacers of CSK. Manpreet Gony who is impressive in IPL went for much runs. However Albie Morkel and Joginder Sharma also plundered for much by Virendar Sehwag and Gambhir. Sehwag was in damn hurry, He scored all-over the ground and Gambhir also worked out very well. For first time in tournament most favorites Chennai Super Kings seemed to desperate trouble because Sehwag and his legacy continue to maintain runs momentum. After reaching Sehwag fifty he certainly get out after chipping 71 runs off 41 balls including 7 boundaries and 4 massive sixes. Since the departure of Sehwag made things much easier for Delhi. Gambhir also reached his fine fifty. Manpreet Gony bowled out Gambhir. AB DeVilliers and S Dhawan guided Delhi DareDevils over emphatic win against Chennai Super Kings just in 19 overs. Delhi DareDevils win by 8 wickets with one over spare. Virendar Sehwag rewarded second time as Man of the Match.

Match 15 - Chennai Super Kings vs. Bangalore Royal Challengers

Chennai Super Kings captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni who won the toss and elected to bat first. MS Dhoni who is most successive captain till now his team is unbeaten. Parthiv Patel and Hayden started off things very quickly for Chennai Super Kings. Matthew Haydan in-form batsmen for Chennai fall earlier with great bowling of Zaheer Khan. Micheal Hussey joined Parthiv Patel and setup a short partnership. After departure of Patel, Suresh Raina came in and gel up with Hussey again after scoring and maintaining Runs momentum. Raina dismissed in form of Run out due to confusion with Hussey. That part of time Chennai Super Kings despretly looking for a partnership to develop and score runs at good pace. So the captain himself MS Dhoni involved in superb partnership with Hussey which gathered so much runs @ decent rate. The Dhonis batting package filled with 9 boundaries and 3 sixes. Michael Hussey also contributed as he made 47 runs including 3 boundaries and 2 sixes. Dhoni able to score much valuable 65 runs. Chennai Super Kings finished their innings with effective total of 178 runs. Zaheer Khan bowled really well grabed up 3 most important wickets.

Bangalore Royal Challengers who are not good at chasing runs innings cheaply lost 1st wicket of debutant Chipli. Ross Taylor who is supreme touch gathered with Wasim Jaffar very well. Jaffar who really looking for IPL Stampage with his performances. Both of them tried and produced great batting momentum. 2nd wicket Parntership scored about 90 runs highly critical that stage. Soon Jaffar completed his well deserved half-century and it was P Amarnath who picked him with brilliant piece of bowling. Bangalore Royal Challengers never seem to chase score and keep wickets in hand soon after departure of Wasim Jaffar. Wickets continue to tumble highly expected Jacques Kallis, Mark Boucher and Rahul Dravid got out without any impression. Ross Taylor shown great commitment with the bat again. Scored his second IPL half century and he was also cleared by P Amarnath. Most of them ran out cheaply and didn’t score that much. Royal Challengers lost by 13 runs and get all out before the end of 20th over. Contribution of Jaffar and Ross Taylor made team members something to cheer about but the spectuclar captaincy of MS Dhoni made his team able win another encounter. MS Dhoni was awarded as Man of the Match for his magnificient 65 off 30 balls which proved to be match winning innings by him.

Match-11 Chennai Super Kings vs. Kolkata Knight Riders
Both Unbeaten teams joined toghether for a day game between each other. Chennai Super Kings which is performing outstanding throughout the tournament again smelt for a victory agains Kolkata Knight Riders who also playing better and improved cricket.
Kolkata Knight Riders captain Saurav Ganguly won the toss and elected to bat first. Brendon McCullum and himself opened up against great pace attack of Chennai Super Kings. Jacob Oram and M Gony up to mark as they removed McCullum and follwing another ball Ricky Ponting get out with scoring any run. Early problems for KKR begin to start as WP Saha also clean bowled by thunderous Gony.High hoped David Hussey outclassed by P Amarnath.

Time to Time Chennai looking for wickets and wickets. Ganguly, Hafeez and few other also sent pavilion by pace attackers. Only Laxmi Shukla who shown resistance in batting and stayed at wicket scored valuable 42 runs. Kolkata Knight Riders finished their innings with competetive 147 for the lose of 9 wickets. No wicket for Srilankan premier Spinner Muralitharan. Jacob Oram finished with 3 super wickets and it could be said his match-winning performance with ball.

Matthew Hayden and Parthiv Patel started Chennai Super Kings innings in grand fashion. Partnership of 1st wicket scored 66 runs. Then MS Dhoni promoted himself and smashed 43 runs in which 2 sixes and 3 boundaries also included. Matthew Hayden compiled his second half-century with a surprise package of 70 runs including 6 boundaries and 3 sixes.

Chennai won comprehensively by 9 wickets and it is their 3 victory in a row as Kolkata Knight Riders lost their first match. Jacob Oram was rewarded as Man of the Match.

Match 8: Mumbai Indians after a heavy defeat against Bangalore Royal Challengers get set ready to find a victory over strong Chennai Super Kings. Harbhajan Singh the acting captain in place of Sachin Tendulkar won the toss and elected to bowl first. Parthiv Patel and Matthew Hayden started the things very well for Chennai and maintained great scoring rate too. Patel got only scoring 14 including few boundaries Matthew Hayden continued his batting momentum on other way Hussey get out early only scoring 5. It was Suresh Raina another young talent of Indian who joined Hayden and setup a partnership of 104 runs including explosive boundaries and sixes. Both Hayden and Raina completed in grand fashion but Raina lost his charm got out scoring valuable 53 with 3 maximum hits and 3 boundaries. MS Dhoni captain of Chennai promoted himself to number 5 and scored quick firing 30 off 16 balls including 4 boundaries and 1 six. Wickets started to tumble as Hayden and MS Dhone get out in last stage of the innings. Hayden scored 81 off 46 balls with 12 boundaries and 2 maximum sixes.
Jacob Oram and Badrinath finished the innings of Chennai Super Kings with a score of 208 for the loss of 5 wickets.

Chasing anything around 10 runs in a over always found to be tough job. Mumbai Indians started off the things not alike Chennai Kings. Sanath Jayasuriya fired up 20 runs with 4 smashing boundaries but early lost of 2 wickets changed team tactics. Robin Uthappa took the charge and started to play aggressive cricket. He scored 43 off 36 balls 6 boundaries and 1 six. Shaun Pollock and Dwyane Bravo joined together but never capitalized upto the conditions and demand of rate. They also get out in process of slogging. AM Nayyar and Harbhajan Singh teamed up and made quick runs! Few big hits from the bat of Harbhajan and Nayyar made Dhoni to think again about Bowlers.

In partnership of both the match result found to be weird but wicket of Harbhajan Singh who was trying to hit anything got out on the bowling of Muralitharan. Joginder Sharma again this time bowled last over the match in which 20 runs were required. First two balls were hit for boundaries and the biggest mistake done by both Joginder who bowled no-bowl and A Nayyar who took single and become off-strike. Free hit played by Ashish Nehra which he missed unable to do anything. Atlast after the miss of that ball 8 runs were required off 2 balls in which Ashish Nehra gave single to Nayyar who played last ball and just run for a single. Mumbai Indians after a long fight back able to make 202 runs.
It was great match to sight with plenty of ups and down in the end it was Chennai Super Kings who won the match after a smart fight back from Mumbai Indians.

Match 8 between Mumbai Indians and Chennai Super Kings both teams are well-balanced in each departments of the games. As Chennai Super Kings who started the tournament in great fashion beating up magnificently King XI Punjab. If we compare Mumbai Indians they are missing the maestro Sachin Tendulkar services because of his injury which they paid up in opening encounter against Bangalore Royal Challengers. Mumbai Indian the most expensive franchise of IPL not impressed his millions of fans because the names like Sanath Jayasuriya, Shaun Pollock, Harbhajan Singh and Ashish Nehra unable to do anything. They are up against another superb team Chennai Super Kings lead by Mahendra Singh Dhoni an expressive and aggressive captain who led his team for success in opening encounter against Punjab on Saturday.

The venue for match is Chennai home ground advantage goes to MS Dhoni & his team with variety of great names like Matthew Hayden, Micheal Hussey, Jacob Oram and Sultan of Spin Muttiah Muralitharan.
Inclusion of Dwayne Brawo (West Indian Prime All Rounder) in Mumbai Indian can prove to be intensive change as Sachin Tendulker is unavailable beside him Harbhajan Singh doing captaincy. Physiologically Chennai Super Kings are confident about the team sprit, tendencies and abilities. Mumbai Indian need a must win because lots of high expectations behind them after an early loss in home ground.
